Two Selves - Experiencing self & Remembering self
My thought on Reading "Thinking, Fast & Slow" by Daniel Kahneman, chapter two selves.
Experiencing self is the one that answers the question:" Does it hurt now?"
Remembering self is the one that answers the question;" How was it, on the whole?"
Based on Peak-end rule, and duration neglect rule with the hedonimeter.
An ending of the relationship really hurt, but when the remembering self look backward, as the duration neglected, the pain gradually reduce, it wasn't so bad as a whole.
Another thought, is about sex. Peak end rule, and duration neglected. That's mean every love making ended with climax stay with the remembering self, and the duration neglected, no matter how short was it, as long as it come with a climax, the sex was great. But I doubted it only applied for male :P.
